Launched at CES 2024, the MSI Claw A1M with an Intel Core Ultra 7 chip and a 7-inch screen will compete with ROG Ally’s Steam Deck

<p>The company’s first portable gaming gadget, the MSI Claw A1M, was presented at CES 2024. With an Intel Meteor Lake processor that supports Intel’s XeSS AI game upscaling technology, it is powered by Windows 11. The 7-inch 1080p screen on MSI’s portable gaming PC has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. With a 53WHr battery, the MSI Claw A1M outperforms its rivals, the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, with 40WHr and 50WHr batteries, respectively.</p>

<p>Information on the MSI Claw A1M’s availability is still pending. The portable will only be available in Black colorway, with a starting price of $699 (about Rs. 58,100) in the US. It will face competition from the Asus ROG Ally, which debuted at $699 (about Rs. 69,990 in India), as well as the Steam Deck and Steam Deck OLED, which have starting prices of $399 (about Rs. 33,200) and $549 (about Rs. 45,600), respectively. Also unknown is the MSI Claw AM1’s potential availability for purchasing in India.</p>
<p>Compared to Steam’s portable gaming devices, the MSI Claw AM1 has a better on-device resolution thanks to its 7-inch full-HD (1,920×1080 pixels) IPS touchscreen display, 500 nits of peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Home and is powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra 7 (Series 1) CPU.</p>
<p>Along with a MicroSD card port and an NVMe M.2 SSD, the gadget has 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The MSI Claw A1M has a Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C) connection, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity options.Bumpers, triggers, thumb sticks, ABXY buttons, a D-Pad, volume buttons, and a power button with an embedded fingerprint sensor are all features of MSI’s latest portable gaming PC. It has a 65W USB PD 3.0 charging capability and a 6-cell, 53WHr lithium polymer battery. It has two 2W speakers with Hi-Res audio installed. It weighs 675g and has dimensions of 294x117x21.2 mm.</p>
